Lorna Redford

My name is Lorna Redford and I am one of the co-founders of the Group and since its creation back in 2002 I have been working with local families by trying to raise awareness and offer support as they navigate their lives living with ADHD+.

I also worked in the drinks industry, had a decade working in the family business and having three children. I returned to work as a community worker and my interest was immediately spiked by the apparent lack of understanding of ADHD. This has since led to 20 years working within the ADHD community trying to raise awareness of the complexities and challenges faced by our families.

It’s been a privilege to be part of their lives.

Lorna Fotheringham

I came to the ADHD Group towards the end of 2012 to carry out a day’s filing and databasing every week. That didn’t last long! Soon I found myself completely absorbed in the Group’s day-to-day routine and took on many varied tasks.

My background is the drinks industry, so very different from the third sector! I worked for sixteen years for Diageo PLC as Personal Assistant to the Consumer Marketing Director before I took a long break to have my family and get them through school.

I returned to work as a charity shop manager at the same time as I began working for the Group and realised very quickly how the third sector is a challenging but rewarding environment in which to work.

I find the diversity of every single day at the Group exciting and terrifying at the same time as its so unpredictable but ultimately rewarding.

Without ADHD+ Perth I would not have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing people!

ANN HERD

Hi, I am Ann. My background is as a manager, business owner, trainer, assessor and benefits advisor. I first became involved with Perth ADHD Group five years ago while working for the Citizens Advice Bureau. I soon realised that a lot of people I was seeing were showing ADHD-like symptoms and began referring them to the group for support.

Our clients are warriors and many have to fight to see their basic needs met. I am very honoured to work in such a unique and diverse environment.

Juliet McDonald

Hi, I am Julie. I am a family and outreach worker. I love seeing our families becoming empowered and confident when dealing with the statutory sector. This is a departure for me because I was a civil servant working in the Sheriff Court for many years prior to working here. Long Live ADHD!
